What is Ezekiel speaking of in his chapters 40-48? I am writing curriculum and have reached that portion of his prophecy. Would appreciate some viewpoints along with mine. Enjoyed reading three new sources a few minutes ago.

Richard - I see 36-37 Israel's return as a nation, 38-39 a part if the final war when Christ returns, and 40f the millennial reign of Christ. Taking the prophesies in these chapters being fulfilled consecutively seems reasonable to me.

It is rooted in the promises of 37:26-28, "Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My tabernacle shall also be with them; indeed I will be their God and they shall be My people. The nations also will know that I, the Lord, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore." It can't be temporary. It is a "forever" sanctuary. Note the use of "everlasting" and "forevermore" in these verses as well.
